Stress Relief Projects to Make for Your Children

Our children are also affected by stress even if think this is not possible. A child needs to learn how to manage stress from early because growing up being stressed may lead to more serious problems.

> They can experiment the stress more that we do because they are more easily influenced by the events that take place in their lives and they are more affected by changes than adults.

> The death of a family member, the divorce of their parents, or even the changes like moving in another place to live or the birth of a new member in their family can cause a higher level of stress that we think.

The parents have to be aware of the fact that there is a normal thing for their child to experiment stress if he/she gets through a situation that is not usually daily. There has been discussed and decided that there must be some stress relief projects to make by parents for the children.

* One of these stress relief projects to make is to adjust to your children's mood.

Talk to them. Show concern to their problems. Ask them about school or about their friends. This will make them feel more confident in your help and support.

* Another stress relief project to make is to watch the same programs they do.

Do not let them watch news or movies that can affect their mood. They are very easy influenced and they use to absorb all the things that can harm them. In case they see some of these programs then you should make them feel more confident in your protection by telling them that you will do everything to prevent something bad to happen to them. You should also let them know what they should do and whom they should call if something bad happens.

* Encouraging them to think positively is another stress relief project to make.

The children let themselves very easy influenced by bad events as well as by good ones. In case something bad happens moving in another city or encouraging them to go to school and get out with their friends may have a relieving effect on their moods.

- Try to make them see the good side of all that happens and if this is not possible then try to induce them the idea that they are strong and they can manage the problem.

* Another stress relief project to make is to lead by examples.

Your children feel everything that happens inside their home. Even if do not tell them that you have problems at work or in family (with your spouse) they feel it without realizing it. They are very influenced by your reactions to stress factors.

- Do not adopt attitudes like smoking, drinking, or using obscene language when you are stressed. Try to be calm and to face the obstacle for their sake.

- Instead of acting inappropriate you should take a hot bath, make some exercises, relax by reading a good book, and take a walk. They must see that there are things that can help them feel better. Also encourage them to write in a diary their daily events. This can also have a relieving effect.

* To induce confidence is another very important stress relief project to make. Your children may need your help but you have to know when they can decide for their own. Be there for them but try to make them understand that they need to take care of them selves one day. Encourage them to make their own decisions but let them know that if they cannot manage the situation then they can ask for your help because you will be there for them.
