The Hectic Life and Stress in Single Moms
A quarter of all children living in the United States have no father or male figure in the home. The children are being raised by single moms. It makes no difference what the reason is, the stress in single moms and the demands are great on the only parent in the home. The split in the parents could be from divorce, death of a spouse, or making an individual choice not to get married or with a partner. 1. Create a budget and make plans for investments for future security. Stress in single moms can be reduced: if you want your child or children to go to college, planning is necessary. For your own retirement, the right plan will bring you large rewards. To make a little extra, you might consider more training for yourself.
2. Stay on a daily schedule. Plan your dinners and who does what around the house. Try keeping a regular bedtime and outings need to be done within this timeline. This will not only help you kids to get on a better routine, it will help you to cope with tiredness and frustrations caused by unorganized life. Soon, stress in single moms will be diminished by proper time management.
3. When having to punish, consistency is the key to good behavior. Kids are more at ease when they are not surprised by consequences.
Divorce can sometimes bring on a difference of parenting styles with visits; try to be on the same page with all those caring for your child.
4. When they talk to you listen and be honest with them. They are going to have a lot of answers they need to make sense of the situation you are in with your spouse. Give them the best answer for their age and if you are not sure, say so. If the problem is something you can not handle, get help. 5. Never treat your child like they are an adult. You have to stay strong and not lean on the child to give you what your life is missing. Kids are not mature enough to carry your emotional needs as they can not even begin to deal with there own. Get yourself some adults to talk to and be around when you need this type of comfort; it can be great to relieve stress in single moms.
6. Have a good attitude even when things get tough. The pain of loosing a spouse for what ever reason may be too great to handle but, no matter how bad you feel, the child should see you trying to be cheerful. For reducing stress in single moms try to join a gym, get on a healthy diet, sleep on a regular schedule, and maintain a sense of order.
Be strong and try to work with your child to better both of your situations. Remember, it is not selfish to take some time for yourself to make life a little bit more bearable for you. If you don't you could be creating a stressful environment for yourself and your children that will damage later.
