Stress affects the body and it represents a direct challenge of surviving instinct present in every person and leads to the burst of some chemical and physical reactions. The sensation that overwhelms us when we are under stress is called panic and is the result of the adrenalin (i.e. a hormone produced by the adrenal glands).
- These glands are controlled by the nervous system. The adrenaline raises the heart rate and the blood pressure.
- The glycogen is hurried towards glucoses and this leads to an immediate energy for the muscles.
- The respiration rate increases as well because the lungs try to get more oxygen.
- Body temperature gets higher and the digestion stops.
When stress affects the body, the production of adrenalin is the cause of an increase in the power of a person and he/she can do things that normally could not. But it can have also negative effects like the affection of the immune system and the loss of energy that can lead to serious diseases.
