The Role of DHEA In Your Stress Anatomy

Did you know that the human brain is an astonishing survival tool? Whenever new information is received, it stimulates our brain. This can be a stress causing action, and our hypothalamus reacts instantly determining us to respond to any threatening factors; it is the well-known fight – or – flight response to stress.

The worst thing is that stress causes massive production of cortisol, which can gradually lead to a decreased catabolic activity. There are good news as well, don’t worry  Researchers have already proven that effective stress management techniques can help you achieve positive and measurable advantages in only a short period of time. In addition, those advantages will build an upward anabolic activity that will fulfill your life in all plans.

The main purpose of stress management techniques is not to eliminate stress, but rather modify it and make it work to your advantage. I am sure you are well aware that a bit of stress ca sometimes be helpful if it brings a more intense relationship with life. Therefore, opting for stress management techniques can support you in transforming stress into great creativity, love and even joy.

Sounds like a miracle, doesn’t it?

Well, the pressures of everyday life can bring a lot of negativity and suffering onto our lives and finding the right balance is never easy. All you need is the right tools. The primary cause of stress is change, everyone agrees with that... illness, low incomes, budget out cuts, visits from relatives or new working environments - all those are events that pull us from our comfort zone. Now in any of those situations, there are a couple of things that we can do:

• We block the change;

• We start widening our comfort zone limits.

Becoming more resilient seems to be an effective reaction when it comes to stressful, unexpected situations. What you probably don’t know by now is that the emotional resilience is 80% determined by your body metabolism! The stress hormones and the DHEA have a seesaw relationship and many scientists believe this can be the core of the age – related decline of emotional and mental resilience.

* Dehydroepiandrosterone is a natural steroid hormone produced from cholesterol by the adrenal glands, the gonads, adipose tissue, brain and skin.

Stress can lead to a raft of maladies, including:

o EXTREME FATIGUE, which is not simply a result of poor sleep. In fact, lower metabolic efficiency will lead to less energy produced by your body cells all over the body, which causes increased body fatigue.

o MEMORY LOSS. All stress hormones have a role in producing alternations in your brain’s biochemistry. Therefore, raising the DHEA levels can improve your memory, if you are going through accentuated depressions or stress events.

o THE SHORT-FUSE SYNDROME is another result of your body’s interaction with stress. It seems that things that used to irritate you a bit a while ago turn now to be major stress triggers. The short-fuse syndrome can even cause increased hostility.

o EXCESSIVE WORRY AND ANXIETY.

o BODY ACHES, LOWER PAIN THRESHOLD.

If you experience any of the above symptoms, you will also notice that as years go by, those symptoms also increase in intensity. I don’t say that taking DHEA hormones alone will make everything better, but this ca be one of the rational and safe stress management methods to recover from stress related affections.

One of the most recent studies, published in the Brain Research Reviews, documented thoroughly the ability of DHEA to:

 Reduce depression and anxiety;

 Enhance the memory status;

 Improve your mood and induces well-being feelings;

 Protects your brain from degeneration, which is some causes can even lead to the Alzheimer disease.
