Struggling with Pregnancy Stress Can Be A Children’s Game
Many researches have been done in order to draw a link between stress and miscarriage. Obstetricians have been trying their best to find out all the possible factors behind a miscarriage or immature birth; one of them could be stress.
After years of research, obstetricians have concluded after consensus that hard physical work might result in preterm labor and can also harm the fetus; resulting in a miscarriage. But as far as emotional stress is concerned, there are no negatives effects on the fetus or the outcome of the pregnancy. But the conclusion made by obstetricians has been challenged. The challenge claims that there are some hormones in women’s body that can bring preterm labor or miscarriage; in case of stressful evens.
There are a number of techniques which can be used by pregnant ladies in order to reduce the stress level; which may affect their fetus. With these techniques, it is possible for both pregnant women and doctors who look after them to control the level of stress. For the sake of understanding, these stress controlling techniques are broadly classified into two groups:
1-Modification of Lifestyle
2- Mental & Physical Exercises.
Here are some of the tips.
• First of all, make a list of all your day to day activities. This will help you in monitoring your lifestyle. Try to cover every minute detail like cultural, religious and other obligations, or work responsibilities, family responsibilities etc. After making a list of all these, try to find out how realistic they all are. Also try to spare sometime for events like exercise, social gatherings, bad health etc. After you have done all of these tasks, then make a final draft of this schedule and question your assumptions; your schedule should be achievable, sustainable. If not, then you should alter it.
• Later stages of pregnancy demands your attention towards your physical progress. It won’t be possible for a lady to continue her busy life style in the later stages of pregnancy. So you have to give up some of your activities from your lifestyle; which is better for you and the fetus. Give yourself sufficient time for sleep and rest. For sure, pregnant lady requires more sleep. You might need to change your diet plan as well as you diet time. It is very essential for pregnant women to have a balance diet. It would be much better if you spare some time for physical, light pregnancy specific exercises. And finally, you should spare enough time to discuss your future responsibilities with your husband and loved ones.
• You should make sure that you don’t share all of your feelings related with your pregnancy with your friends, boss or husband. Because sometime their comments can disturb you. You should consult only your doctor for discussing these issues. You should know what to eat, when to eat, what to do, what not to do. You or your doctor can only determine the answer of these questions. It is often advisable to listen to the advice of your family members; mostly women who had gone through these experiences. But before acting on any advice, you should consult your doctor.
• You should try to control your lifestyle as efficiently as you can. But no one can deny that there are certain activities or events that can’t be controlled. For example, you might feel sickness during the morning. You might get fatigue. Some ladies complain complications and they are advised to get enough bed rest. Make sure that your work load will come in contact with your pregnancy issues.
So draw a line between both of them, you should consider your pregnancy before carrying the burden of your work load. Often it is advisable to take maternal leave.
