When Worries Attack

Anxiety within the society is very usual to a lot of people, and the typical effects of such are irrational fear, terror or panic. Some risk factors are believed to be associated with the occurrence of an anxiety attack, but their presence does not necessarily mean that they directly trigger the attack.

In the world of psychology, anxiety attack and panic attack are two terms which are so identical that they tend to point put to just the same things, thus there is really no difference between them. Even so, in the point of view of many people, anxiety attack is a gentler version of the panic attack. With the former, the person who experiences it feels a sudden passing of an intense anxiety, usually caused by environmental factors.

While anxiety attack is described as a short period of nervousness leading to panic, the panic attack, on the other hand, is illustrated as the strong fear of fear and the illogical panic about some things.

There are several signs and symptoms to watch out regarding anxiety attacks. These include anxiety, itself, chest pains, and shortness in breath. These signs, which may vary from one person to another, can be noticed by the patient, himself, or by his doctor, or sometimes, by both of them.

Panic attacks which go on and continue for up to six months can lead to panic disorders, and these disorders can take different forms, like panic disorders accompanied by agoraphobia, or the fear of open spaces; and panic disorders not accompanied by agoraphobia. Suffering from any of these can get in the way of the person’s work, relationships and other daily activities.

Luckily, many medications are offered to help a person to efficiently cope with anxiety attacks, including psychological therapies, wherein the patient has to undergo sessions with a professional in order to slowly face the things that causes his fear; and techniques in relaxation, like learning how to breathe properly when the anxiety attacks. Overall, for a better and easier way of remedying the attacks, a person’s way of living should be balanced and healthy so that anxiety may be lessened and that he will be completely in-charge of his life.

Consulting a professional for diagnosis and medications is a great solution to the problem. Other illnesses and conditions can take the form of anxiety attack, or cause anxiety attacks; this means that illnesses like diabetes or heart problems may be present, and they are the causes of the attacks. Other times substances which are taken by a person can also cause anxiety attack, for instance, the excessive intake of caffeine can trigger the attacks.

Either way, a person has to be completely aware of what is happening with him, so that he can prevent other medical conditions; and the best way to do this is to seek medical advice.
