Optimism Kills Stress

Handling change in a positive manner starts with one single step: the recognition of the fact that you experience chaos. Stress and chaos are due to the fact that your threshold, or your limit, for coping with new situations, is low, and therefore, the chaos.

When we think about stress and chaos, we perceive them as negative things. This is the fist mistake: they are only symptoms of what we are really feeling and experiencing and not problems. If you start thinking that chaos is actually a state of things that will allow to change your old map – that is unable to handle new situations – with a newer map, then you will think about chaos as about a good thing. Another great thing about the new map that you are about to develop is that what now seems stressful and impossible to handle will work as a breeze with the new map.

What you must not do is to resist change. You will only succeed in prolonging the state of chaos, you will fail to learn anything from the experience and your threshold will not raise. All these will result in you experiencing the same stress over and over again, which you actually do not want to feel. Remember that resistance will not do you any good in this battle and it will force you to lose instead of winning.

You may wonder right now: What is change? How will I know how to deal with it? The good news is that this type of knowledge exists already in you and you do not need to be a rocket scientist to do it. It is only natural to change and if you just throw a look around you, you will notice how all the things, the people, and the entire world changes around you, adapting. You just have to learn how to let it happen, instead of fighting against it with all your strength.

Having the right attitude towards change will help you from a lot of pain and emotional suffering. All you have to do is to follow the simple steps we presented you here:

1. Admit that you are experience chaos or stress instead of being in denial.

2. Search for the cause of stress or chaos inside you and not in the things, the situations, or the people that surround you; acknowledge that the main cause why you feel so vulnerable in front of all these new stimulus is that your threshold for handling this stuff is too low.

3. Acknowledge chaos and stress as positive things that happen to you, that will help you improve in time and broaden your horizons.

4. Let change take its course.

5. Receive the new input and deny the temptation to resist and guard your old map.

If you apply all these recommendations, you will find it easier to deal with stress and you will cope with change faster. Before you know it, you will be where you wanted to be in the first place. If you ask if there is a way to avoid change, well, we tell you that you can do it, but it means that you will isolate from life and all its aspects altogether. There is no stress, if you choose to block everything off, any information, any new people, any new situations.

Another way is to find other ways to release the pressure, like abusing all the things you like, as eating, having sex, drinking and so on. Nothing will change, you will keep the old threshold, that, from time to time, will be challenged, no matter how hard you try.

We strongly believe that the first method we showed you works the best and in your interest. At the first glance, you may find it difficult, but we suggest to give a little more thought, and you will discover how easier and faster change can be.
