Organized Lifestyles Are Stress-Free - part 1

In my experience the personal thoughts of lack of worth and not able to deliver are the major causes of a disturbed emotional and psychological life. To get out of this state of mind one looks for support in form of self help therapies and personal growth methods etc. These are all ways to cope up when our personality fails to bear the pressure of our stressful environment.

Every body has a limit and when this external stress crosses this limit the result is chaos and disarray. These various responses are basically the face of our internal disturbances. As our internal psychological dynamics starts falling apart these compensatory mechanisms try to hold them together. We on the other hand are unaware of the fact that we are trying to defend what may be replaced by something better afterwards.

Scientist Ilya Prigogine won the noble prize for working on this stress response. The basic concept is that when external stress and pressures build up on a human body, it responds by various means. This response goes on till a time comes when it crosses the bearable limits of the body’s psychological map which fails to keep pace and falls apart. The result is chaos and disarray. However afterwards the psychological system reorganizes it self to a much higher level to sustains much more stress and strains of external environment as compared to the past.

Only if the mechanism does not breakdown which is a very rare phenomenon this restructuring results in a much improved and better version of our system which can bear the pressures which the older system failed to cope up with. We on the other hand try hard to maintain our old version of system. We attribute our individuality and personality to this psychological map not comprehending with the fact that it is just a device which helps us to move ahead in our lives. We get so much accustomed to working with this system that we start to consider it indispensable to make our daily life decisions of what, when and how to do. Whereas we are much more than this mere psychological working map.

As we consider this system synonymous to our own personal self we find ourselves falling apart as this system starts to cave in. So we try to protect it not understanding that the faulty foundation is the real cause of our failures and a new system may help us do better in future.

Now let us apply this model on individuals and find out why they fail to deliver in the presence of excess external stress and other types of strains. Let us found its application in daily life.
